Club History

Keilor Park Football Club was founded as a junior club in October 1974 when residents met to establish a local football, basketball, and netball sporting club. Ken Newton, Ken Simon and Kevin Senserrick are credited with being the driving force behind the establishment of the club.

Originally, plans for the sporting complex (including, what is now known as Keilor Park Recreation Reserve) were to be allocated to Keilor Football Club. However, a group of passionate Keilor Park locals, including the above as well as Brenda Lee and David Bassingthwaite petitioned local council for the re-allocation of the sporting complex facilities to the newly formed Keilor Park Football Club.

Club colours were chosen to reflect the now defunct local Keilor Park Primary School (1971–2008). This consisted of green with an orange strip and green socks. Its emblem was a Devil with a pitchfork. As history has it, the green and orange colours were adopted by the primary school in 1971 to reflect two distinct team ‘houses’ for students. Bulai-Bulai was the green colour and Wurra-Nunna was designated the orange.

The senior club was established in 1981 with its Under 18s winning the premiership that season.

The club has been successful in winning two senior premierships in the B grade competition in 1990 and 2001 and also winning a number of reserve and junior premierships.
