Keilor Park Football Club is happy to make another announcement for their senior coaching group. Daniel Galea has been appointed reserves and assistant senior coach to complement Paul (senior men’s) and Marcus (women’s) at our senior coaching level.
Daniel joins us as a new and upcoming coach who is driven to succeed. Daniel’s playing career was predominantly at the PEGS Football Club in the VAFA where he played for 10 years, before moving to East Keilor Football Club in 2018 where he played underneath Keilor Park’s new Head Coach, Paul Guicas. During the 2018 season Daniel suffered an ACL tear and required a full reconstruction of his knee. Despite this, he used this as an opportunity to kick start his coaching career and he returned to the PEGS Football Club in 2019 as coach of the Thirds. In 2018, prior to Daniel’s arrival, PEGS finished 3rd last and recorded only 4 wins. Throughout his debut season Daniel was required to build a large pool of players and had 70 players play for his team throughout the 2019 season. PEGS finished the season 2nd on the ladder with 12 wins and made it to a preliminary final where their season unfortunately ended.
Daniel works as an accountant at the Essendon Football club where he works closely with the football and community department. He is also the Treasurer of the Tiwi Bombers Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League who host several big names such as Cyril Rioli and Austin Wonaeamirri. His exposure to elite programs is something that he will try and emulate at the Keilor Park Football Club.
Daniel is particularly excited about linking up with Paul Guicas to steer the Keilor Park Football Club back up the ladder.
