EDFL Preview – Keilor Park

Day 16

KEILOR Park was a surprise finalist in 2016 but couldn’t get past Moonee Valley in the Semi-Final. Regardless, Marcus Barclay’s first year back as the Devils’ coach was a rousing success, having brought back numerous former Keilor Park players and along with that, a fair bit of pride back into their famous green and orange jumper.

However, by their own admission, Season 2017 won’t exactly be a major tilt for the flag – though that is not to suggest they won’t try to have an impact. This summer was all about consolidating their finances and senior list, and the result was the smallest amount of player turnover out of all 27 EDFL clubs. Tall forward/ruck option Scott Lambert is Keilor Park’s only recruit, while 2016 B&F winner Nate Trotter and EDFL/WRFL journeyman Shane Barry are the only currently confirmed departures. Another finals appearance is definitely on the cards, but the level of improvement the Devils could reach is an unknown.
