Keilor Park re-appoint Marcus Barclay as senior coach for 2017
Marcus Barclay has been re-appointed as senior coach of Keilor Park Football Club for season 2017. The decision to appoint Barclay for a second year in the top seat over other applicants was made following a successful year in 2016. It was a year that saw much of the playing group from 2015 remain at the club and also an influx of new and old faces to the club.
The senior side made big improvements on a 2015 season that saw only 2 wins to go on and make the finals in 2016.
When asked what he was looking forward to in 2017, Barclay said he was “looking to see many of the guys improve on their 2016 form. Whether they are in a new position or a new role they should all be excited about 2017 and hoping to once again compete in the finals.”
Chris Koulouriotis has been appointed as the assistant coach for 2017 and will work closely with Barclay to try and have the club improve yet again.
Luke Vivian will take the role of fitness coach for pre-season and throughout the season proper, bringing a wealth of experience from prior roles with development groups he has worked with and from working with other strength and conditioning coaches in the industry.
The senior Devils began pre-season on 16th November, 2016 and will train every Monday and Wednesday until Monday, 19th December which will be followed by a BBQ, all are welcome. The Devils will then break for the Christmas period and resume training in 2017.
